Celebrate Black History Month : Black Mama’s

Hello Mama’s!!!!!

I want to take a moment during Black History Month to Celebrate Black Mama’s. I want to celebrate black women who are bringing life and hope into the world as a 1st- time mom-to-be or mom-to-be again. I want you to know it is not unnoticed you are AMAZING!

If you have followed me in the past you know I have worked with pregnant women for years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse, and currently as a High Risk Pregnancy Nurse. I promote pregnancy health, wellness, life, and happiness during pregnancy. My goal is for everyone who is pregnant or desiring a child to know that they are AMAZING! When women realize how incredible they are-that is when I am fulfilling my purpose.

The truth is the news reports, articles, Facebook posts, Instagram reels tell stories of the scary truth that Black women are three to four times more likely to die from pregnancy- than other races, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention[CDC],2019). We acknowledge and recognize #enoughisenough.

This is a scary fact when you are pregnant. I desire to end ALL pregnancy-related death and illness for the entire world. However, right now I do what I can do- which is to connect, lift -up, encourage and advocate from my corner of the world. To educate women to know what questions to ask and when to use their powerful voice.

I want to remind you- that you are Amazing, Valued, Worthy, Loved, and more than enough. I want to encourage you to speak life and words of positivity over yourself, your baby, and your family.

So to all my Black Mothers preparing for childbirth or deciding on pregnancy use this preparation time and/or 40 weeks to speak Life, Health, Joy, Peace, Safety, Wellness and Love over your pregnancy, life, family and yourself. Use a journal so you can see your words and they become real to you as you reflect on your pregnancy journey.
